According to Perez Hilton, Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore attended the Los Angeles Derby Dolls match this past weekend, perhaps in preparation for Drew’s directorial debut, “Whip It!”

The LA Derby Dolls is a league of roller derby teams, whose bad grrrl coolness just went up several notches by the participation of two-thirds of Charlie’s Angels in the audience.

The Derby Dolls can be so dangerous, they often make their patrons sign an indemnity waiver just to watch them race around the track and beat the crap out of each other. Cameron Diaz (There’s Something about Scary?) and Drew Barrymore (Never Been Kissed… or Body-Slammed?), however, were up for the challenge.And what’s fun about the being a roller derby diva are the pun-tastic names for the competitors. Among them have been “Juana Beatin” and “Amber Alert”.

So there could be some fun pseudonymous suggestions for these sexy sirens. Cameron Diaz could be “Shrek Shrew” or “Princess Break-Bone-a”. Drew Barrymore? How about the straightforward “Firestarter” or “E.T., the Extra-Tyrannical”? Maybe “Fever Bitch”?

Could it be that Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore are doing research for an upcoming project together? We do know that Drew is directing the big screen adaptation of Shauna Cross’ novel, “Derby Girl” about an angsty teen who discovers an outlet in roller derby, with Ellen Page in the starring role. Coincidence? We think not.

Not that their upcoming projects don’t sound good. Drew Barrymore is working on the HBO film Grey Gardens, about Jackie Kennedy’s eccentric cousin and an adaptation of the best-selling book He’s Just Not That Into You. Cameron Diaz has been promoting her future release What Happens in Vegas… co-starring Ashton Kutcher.

Still, we’d love to see Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore co-star again, as jammers and blockers, racing around a rink in little more than knee-pads. Throw in Lucy Liu for a Charlie’s Angels reunion. A roller derby movie would truly be an action-packed chick flick. Fuller throttle than their last collaboration.
