Drew Barrymore: ‘My Wildchild Days Are Behind Me’
September 18, 08 by AngelicDrew Barrymore says her wildchild days are now a thing of the past thanks to her ability to admit to her mistakes.
The Fever Pitch actress — who recently ended her relationship with actor Justin Long — says she now loves embracing her flaws, and is happy in life
She explains, “All I know is that if you’re just true to yourself and don’t pretend to be perfect and have as much fun as you can and believe in yourself, you can bet on yourself and say, ‘I can do this’ and believe in yourself. And everything works out.”
Drew, 33, endured a notoriously troubled childhood. She was already a regular at the famed Studio 54 when she was a little girl; smoking cigarettes at age nine; drinking alcohol by the time she was eleven; smoking marijuana at twelve; and snorting cocaine at thirteen. She was in rehab at age thirteen and a second time at fourteen.
Barrymore later described this period of her life in her 1990 autobiography, Little Girl Lost.
