Actress Drew Barrymore says her teenage breakdown was the best thing that ever happened to her. Barrymore made her film debut at the age of 5 in Altered States in the year 1980. She received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1984 for her role in Irreconcilable Differences.

In the wake of the sudden stardom, she endured a notoriously troubled childhood. She was a regular at the famed Studio 54 club, when she was a little girl and took cocaine at the age of 12 for the first time. She was in a rehab at age 13 and a second time at 14 because of snorting cocaine.

However, Barrymore insists that the early phase of her life taught her many valuable lessons because of which she doesn? ? !” t take things for granted anymore. It led me to where I am.
