“Beverly Hills Chihuahua” Fetches Most Money at Box Office This Weekend
October 06, 08 by AngelicThe Disney film “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” brought in roughly $29 million over the weekend to take first at the box office. The movie features conversing canines with a voice cast that includes Drew Barrymore, Cheech Marin, and Placido Domingo.Barrymore performs the voice of Chloe, a pampered pooch trying to fend for herself in Mexico. It was the largest opening for October that Disney has ever had. Not even any of the newcomers could take 2nd, which last week’s “Eagle Eye” occupied.
Taking the bottom spot at 10th was talk show host Bill Maher’s “Religulous” which took in $3.5 million. Another ideologically driven movie, David Zucker’s “An American Carol,” took 9th with $3.8 million.
